At Life Psychology, your well-being comes first. Melissa Ehart, LPC, CAADC, CCS, SAP, has dedicated over 15 years to walking alongside individuals, couples, and veterans as they navigate life’s challenges.
Whether you’re facing addiction, marital and parenting struggles, PTSD, anxiety, depression, or spiritual exploration, Melissa’s mission is to provide the support you need to heal and grow. She is also certified to provide DOT (Department of Transportation) evaluations, offering essential services for those in safety-sensitive jobs.
But for Melissa, therapy isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about helping people uncover their strengths and step into the life they were meant to live. As a veteran herself, she understands how past struggles shape our present and believes in the power of resilience and redemption.
A Person-Centered, Collaborative, and Relational Approach
Person-Centered – Each individual is unique, with their own personality, strengths, weaknesses, desires, and goals. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s about meeting you where you are and helping you find the path that fits your life.
Collaborative – We all benefit from feedback, and sometimes an objective, caring perspective is exactly what we need to gain clarity. Melissa approaches every session with unconditional positive regard, offering guidance that empowers you rather than defines you.
Relational – Wounds that happen in relationships are often healed through relationships. A strong, positive therapeutic connection can help restore your trust in others, in yourself, and in the possibility of change.
"Client is Always Priority."
That’s Melissa’s guiding philosophy. She strives to create a safe and comfortable space where you feel seen, heard, and valued. Her greatest joy comes from witnessing clients regain control over their lives—whether that means breaking free from addiction, strengthening relationships, or developing new ways to manage mental health.
Managing stress and anxiety starts with identifying what truly matters to you and setting boundaries to protect your well-being. Depression, often fueled by unresolved trauma, life stressors, and self-care habits, can feel overwhelming, but healing is possible with the right support.
A Poetic Reflection on Healing
Melissa’s approach to therapy is beautifully reflected in the following poem:
Pain Stayed So Long Pain stayed so long, I said to him today, "I will not have you with me anymore." I stamped my foot and said, "Be on your way," And paused there, startled at the look he wore.
"I, who have been your friend," he said to me, "I, who have been your teacher—all you know Of understanding love, of sympathy, And patience, I have taught you. Shall I go?"
He spoke the truth, this strange unwelcome guest; I watched him leave and knew that he was wise. He left a heart grown tender in my breast, He left a far, clear vision in my eyes.
This poem reminds us that even our deepest pain can be a teacher, shaping us into stronger, more compassionate versions of ourselves. Instead of resisting life’s struggles, Melissa encourages clients to embrace them as opportunities for growth and transformation.
